Alpha Video Brings HD file-based workflow to HuskerVision
Alpha Video’s Sports & Entertainment Group was selected by the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) to integrate the new HD production facilities for HuskerVision. The high definition system features a tapeless, file-based workflow using Panasonic’s P2 format and equipment from Harris, EVS, Apple and others. The system ties directly into HuskerVision’s media asset management and archival system, a project completed by Alpha Video Sports in 2008.
The University chose Alpha Video Sports because they wanted a system that could drive their five LED video screens at Memorial Stadium, two LED video screens at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, and a studio that HuskerVision uses to produce a variety of productions, including coaches’ shows for five sports – all in HD. The system is also used to provide video support for all twenty-three of Nebraska’s varsity sports.
Keeping with Tradition & Technology
Jeffrey Volk, Director, Alpha Video Sports & Entertainment Group, says, “We were very pleased to work with HuskerVision on this exciting project and continue our longstanding history with Nebraska Athletics. This major upgrade keeps HuskerVision at the forefront of production technology – allowing them to better teach their students and better entertain their fans. The system is poised to unleash the potential of not just the LED video replay boards that were installed in 2006, but the additional LED video boards and fascia that were installed this summer as well.”
“The Alpha Video Sports and Entertainment Group offers Nebraska Athletics and HuskerVision high quality hardware and software systems, great systems integration and very competitive pricing. With their long history of delivering projects for us on time and on budget we couldn’t be happier to have them as our partner on this major project for HuskerVision.” - Shot Kleen, Director of Technology, University of Nebraska Athletics.
