Alpha Video’s Academic Group Helps Secure Minnesota School District
Minnesota schools receive state-of-the-art surveillance with over 500 cameras
Minneapolis, MN, July 6, 2007 – Alpha Video, a leading professional video systems integrator, has announced the completion of a large-scale security solution for the South Washington School District, located in Cottage Grove, MN.
South Washington Schools contracted Alpha Video’s Academic Group to assist in creating a system that would provide maximum security for its staff and students. The District recognized the growing national education security concerns, and decided to reach out to advanced technology to help decrease vandalism and other student issues.
The school district’s main goal was to monitor behavior, and to try and resolve student issues before they escalated into major problems. In response, Alpha helped to create an effective and efficient plan to establish a district-wide surveillance camera and digital recorder system throughout all 23 of the school’s buildings. The installation encompasses more than 500 cameras, and ensures that the district is able to successfully create a comprehensive plan for connecting the entire district. In addition, intrusion detection was also installed to protect the district’s buildings from vandalism.
