Job Title:  Broadcast Installation Lead Technician                  Department:  Service

Full Time/Part Time:  Full Time                                              

 

Job Description:

Alpha Video is looking for an experienced Broadcast Systems Installation Technician to assemble, pre-wire and prepare racked systems for broadcast technical facilities.  The successful candidate must have experience in cable fabrication and termination, mechanical assembly, and rack & cabinet wiring and harnessing.

 

Responsibilities:

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Understand and use wire lists, schematics and technical documentation
  • Assemble, pre-wire and prepare racked systems for broadcast technical facilities
  • Experience in maintaining and setting up Analog and Digital broadcast equipment, including: cameras, video file servers, VTR's, digital switchers and effects systems, digital audio systems, paint/graphics systems, and Harris automation systems
  • Position requires travel

Qualifications:

Your specific qualifications should include:

  • 4+ years of maintenance experience in television broadcast environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and knowledge of broadcast equipment to the component machine level
  • Thorough working knowledge of wave form and vector scopes, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital and analog test equipment, and various types of hand tools
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows/Mac/Unix/Linux based operation systems, LAN/WAN platforms, TCP/IP BSEE preferred
  • Supervisory experience, SBE certification and FCC license preferred
  • Must have the ability to lift, carry and be able to remove and install technical equipment
  • Requires hand/eye coordination, high manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Must have well-developed interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communications, highly developed organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as required

Individual will be asked to provide verification of a valid U.S. driver's license, and must have a favorable motor vehicle record.  Due to the sensitivity of Alpha's clients, background checks are required.
