WPTY - Memphis, TN

Alpha replaced the equipment in WPTY's news production control room with state-of-the-art technology, and has since relied on Alpha to continue upgrading their technology.  Alpha provided key components, such as a production automation system, robotic pan/tilt system and a video server.  These solutions now allow the station to boast technically advanced equipment with additional newscasts, increased production quality and reduced labor costs.

Charter Media - Vienna, WV

Alpha designed the Charter's new production studios, which incorporated a control room, audio room and studio space. The client’s three existing Media 100 editing suites were also integrated into the project, as was their duplication facility. The control room utilizes serial digital for program video, analog video for monitoring, and analog audio.  Alpha also installed a 4 x 4 Electrosonics video wall in the lobby of the building to showcase their productions.

WDAY - Fargo, ND

Alpha Video designed and installed an IT based, tape-less news acquisition and editing system with almost two-dozen camcorders that would record directly to a hard disk, and then be transferred to a system for editing.  This gave the station a significant ease of use and the flexibility to transfer finished news stories over to the video server for future play out during a newscast.  In addition, the camcorders and editing systems also support an HDTV format, so the station is well positioned for future technology advancements.

WVVA - Bluefield, WV

Alpha Video performed upgrades in WVVA's control room, and provided them with automated services, allowing for increased broadcast effectiveness.  The station needed to be able to control its equipment from an existing control room, and wanted a system that could be controlled by a single operator.  Alpha designed and installed robotic cameras throughout the control room so the staff could manage a single-person broadcast, as well as upgraded the stations’ technology from an analog-based system to digital technology.

WGEM - Quincy, IL

Alpha Video was contracted by WGEM to install a new studio facility, hoping to be able to control its technology from an existing control room located in another building.  Alpha provided a variety of cameras designed to robotically control the stations’ equipment from its current control room.  The robotic cameras allowed a single operator to control all of the equipment, and included a second control position in the studio so the staff could manage the technology during a single-person broadcast, during a news break or special report.  WGEM was so impressed with the new installation, that it contacted Alpha again to design and establish a video server and state-of-the-art automation for their master control facility.  More info...

WSJV - South Bend, IN

WSJV contacted Alpha Video to assist them with the design and installation of new state-of-the-art equipment.  After Alpha recommended installing new video server and automation technology to help the station manage playback and commercial insertion.  With the help of Alpha, WSJV now enjoys a more effective and efficient master control room, which reduced the stations’ overhead and brought substantial savings to the stations’ ownership.

KGPE - Fresno, CA

KGPE-TV contracted Alpha Video to provide a system that increased the stations' flexibility.  Alpha Video designed a newsroom automation upgrade with discrete components so that automation could be turned off, allowing each component to run separately.  KGPE’s new system now gives the station a choice and prevents them from being locked into a single way of operating their newsroom.

WFTC - Minneapolis, MN

Alpha Video was contacted by WFTC to provide a variety of services, including a complete studio and news integration.  Alpha evaluated the needs of the station and was brought on as the exclusive integrator for the project, jointly designing the facility with the WFTC engineering staff.  The new upgraded system included ENG and studio acquisition, non-linear news editing, station automation and archival systems, along with a variety of other necessities.

KTTC - Rochester, MN

KTTC contracted Alpha to move the entire station from its downtown location to KXLT’s leased space on the northern outskirts of town.  By agreement, the Quincy Group and Shockley Group combined the two stations in this new location to provide cost and process efficiency.  It was Alpha’s responsibility to provide a system plan and integration that would create an environment that both stations could utilize one set of equipment for production and play out, as well as separate master control channels for broadcast.  This was accomplished by using best of class equipment, as well as existing equipment already being utilized by both stations.  This installation also involved one studio with two complete news sets and one compliment of robotically controlled cameras.

KTVX - Salt Lake City, UT

KTVX’s existing system was very inflexible, and if the system malfunctioned, manual control was nearly impossible.  With that in mind, Alpha designed a newsroom automation upgrade, which included a new digital system with discrete components so that automation could be turned off, allowing each component to run separately.  KTVX’s new system now gives the station much more flexibility, and prevents them from being locked into a single way of operating their newsroom.
