Alpha Video's 7th Annual Academic Show was held on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Ramada Mall of America Hotel.  More than 100 people attended or logged in via Alpha's live webcast, making for a very successful event!  Presenters discussed the latest in video and audio production technology for education, video distribution, podcasting, streaming video, digital signage, and much more!

9:00 a.m. - AV Tech Update:  Alpha's Digital Video Specialist, Ryan Lundebrek, reviewed the latest video and audio production technology for education.

 

9:30 a.m. - Keynote Speaker: Warren Harmon, Mayo Clinic.  Mr. Harmon discussed how the Mayo Clinic utilizes multiple “media channels” to send messages to both patients and staff.

 

10:30 a.m. - Case Study: Belvidere Schools, IL.  We broke down a recent digital media installation for Belvidere schools and showed how they are merging digital video solutions into their current analog RF infrastructure.

 

11:00 a.m.  - Demo: VOD Distribution and Management.  VBrick offers one of the most flexible and scalable digital network distribution solutions available for the education market.  Product experts were on hand to demonstrate and answer questions.

 

11:30 a.m. - Lunch: Free lunch buffet

 

12:30 p.m. - Seminar: Everything You Need to Know About Streaming Video.  Our own Mark Okern, Manager of Alpha Video’s Digital Service Group, discussed the basic configurations for streaming video over a LAN, Webcasting and Podcasting.

 

1:30 p.m. - Demo: Digital Message Systems & Network Video Distribution.  Attendees learned how they could use their network infrastructure to distribute digital messages to displays located around their school or an entire campus. We showed the latest version of our best-of-class digital signage solution called CastNET. (With all new features!)

 

2:00 p.m. - Prize Drawings.  Alpha gave away a NEW Apple iPod Touch, as well as three iPod Nanos.
