Alpha Video’s Sports & Entertainment Group Completes University of Central Florida Installation

Newly built stadium receives state-of-the-art digital replay control room

Minneapolis, MN, February 8, 2008– Alpha Video’s Sports & Entertainment Group, the leading national integrator and specialist for the sports and entertainment industry, announced that it has finished installing a state-of-the-art digital replay control room for the newly built Bright House Networks Stadium at the University of Central Florida (UCF).

Alpha’s Sports & Entertainment Group worked with UCF on planning for the project for over two years before construction of the stadium began, and designed and integrated the digital replay control room, valued at $700,000.  The multi-definition control room includes equipment manufactured by Ross Video, Panasonic, Pro-Bel, Avid and others.  It is currently used in standard-definition, but can easily be updated to high-definition as the Knights’ needs change.

“Bright House Networks Stadium is a beautiful facility and a project that we are very proud of. By working closely with the University we were able to deliver a control room that serves as the heart of their digital media initiatives today, and can grow with them as their needs evolve in the future,” said Jeffrey Volk, Director, Alpha Video’s Sports & Entertainment Group.

“We built Bright House Networks Stadium with efficiency and expandability in mind,” said John Kvatek, Director of Video Services for the UCF Athletics Association. “Jeff and Alpha Video were able to come up with a terrific design that will allow us to produce football games on Saturday, Coach’s Shows and other TV programming during the week, and will allow us to connect all of our team sports facilities over time.  Our path to HD is clearly defined and all of the surprises were positive ones.  We’re very happy with the outcome.”

The stadium, which is the cornerstone of the University’s athletic program and the nation’s newest college football venue, sprawls over 25 acres and seats over 45,300.  As the home of the UCF Knights, it is part of a $60 million project that included financing costs, reserve requirements, infrastructure, roads, parking and practice fields for football, soccer and baseball.  Already, the stadium has become one of the toughest places to play in Conference USA, due to the home crowd and game-day atmosphere. The facility was also chosen to host the 2007 Conference USA Championship Game, a game which was ultimately won by UCF.
